District Motherhued

About

Established in August 2016 by Nikki Osei-Barrett and Simona Noce Wright, District Motherhued® is the premiere 501(c)3 organization dedicated to millennial mothers of color in DC, MD and VA (and friends) with national support and acclaim.

Noticing the lack of representation amidst local mom groups, the founders sought to create a regional community for millennial moms resembling themselves. District Motherhued® has since grown their community from 25 to 27K. Since their inaugural event, The Mom Loft, District Motherhued® has hosted over 60 sold-out events and workshops, fostered countless new friendships, debuted The Momference® – the nation’s FIRST large scale conference dedicated to millennial moms of color – AND Mommy en Blanc® – the nation’s premiere all white, “mommy and me” pop-up picnic. District Motherhued® has been featured on DCist, Forbes, Black Enterprise, ESSENCE, Washington Post, FOX 5, Good Morning Washington, Let’s Talk Live, and more!

District Motherhued® is a non-membership based non-profit, and all mothers are welcome to attend our events to build their tribe & engage with our content and newsletters!
