Messellech “Selley” Looby

Messellech “Selley” Looby (Director (Board Chair) is a wife and mother of two. She has nearly 15 years of fundraising and operations experience and has raised over $25 million from corporations, foundations and individuals to support various causes. She currently serves as Senior Vice President of Development & Strategy for First Focus on Children, a leading cross-sector children’s advocacy organization. She earned her BA in Political Science with a minor in Professional and Technical Writing from the University of Hartford and her MA in International Affairs from Georgetown University.

Kendra Briggs

Kendra Briggs (Director, Treasurer) is a wife and mother of a three-year-old son. She is an Assistant United States Attorney, who navigates the delicate balance between work and family every day. She also serves on the executive board for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Xi Omega Chapter. Kendra has been an attorney for 17 years, but ultimately motherhood has been her greatest challenge and greatest blessing.

Monique Ross

Monique Ross (Director, Secretary) is a mother to two children. She is a native Southern Californian who attended college in Atlanta, Georgia where she received her BA in Journalism from Georgia State University. Building off her educational training and passion for style, she has developed a tenured background in fashion, public relations, corporate sales management and event planning. She has built her own fashion and events lifestyle brand and online women’s contemporary boutique, Shop M DOT ROSS. Her devotion to serve women and her community has granted her the opportunity to be part of the dynamic organization, District Motherhued.
